Joanne, the creator of The Healing Cuisine, has a life story that can keep you riveted for hours. This gorgeous woman, who calls both Collingwood and Costa Rica home, has inspired us in so many ways.
Joanne has been mastering the art of raw food, and plant-based cuisine for years, even owning a restaurant in Costa Rica, writing “cookbooks” and making headlines for being the chef to Gisele and Tom Brady. But when you ask her about those amazing things, she’s so humble. She gives a sweet laugh and talks about it without bragging.
Joanne has a a breezy, upbeat hippy vibe. You can tell she does what makes her feel good and her relationship with food makes her, and others feel amazing. She told us she likes to use food to help what ails you. In fact, when we said we were craving salt she said that’s adrenal fatigue that’s causing that. Our eyes almost popped out of our skulls. This woman was amazing.
Joanne and her family live in both Collingwood and Costa Rica. She spent the morning with us preparing her favourite raw chocolate pudding, the only kind of pudding her kids have ever had. And we can see why. With banana, avocado and some ingredients we haven’t heard of before (coconut nectar), this was the best stuff we’ve ever tried.

Raw Chocolate Pudding
Delicious raw food chocolate pudding full of all healthy ingredients.
- 2 Bananas
- 1 Avocado
- 1/5 cup raw cacao powder
- 1 tsp coconut seasoning
- 1/3 cup maple syrup or coconut nectar
Blend all ingredients in a blender
Pour into a bowl, top with coconut chips and chocolate chips
Refrigerate for 10 minutes before enjoying!
**You can also add nut butter or vanilla to your mix for a different taste!
